Leadership is ultimately about helping people succeed.

Why Leadership Matters to Me

I’ve spent much of my career working with people.

I’ve seen talented employees become supervisors for the first time and quickly discover that being good at the work and leading the people doing the work are two very different responsibilities.

I’ve seen experienced leaders wrestle with difficult conversations, competing priorities, performance challenges, and decisions where there was no perfect answer.

And I’ve seen what happens when a leader gets those moments right.

People grow. Trust strengthens. Teams perform better. Work becomes more meaningful.

Those experiences shaped how I think about leadership today.

I don’t believe leadership has to be complicated.

I believe it has to be intentional.

David Nash Leadership Development Advisor

My career hasn’t followed a single leadership-development path.

I’ve had opportunities to work across different areas of business, including sales & marketing, business improvement, contracts & customer service, pricing & supply, talent acquisition, and learning and development.

Each experience taught me something different about people, organizations, and leadership.

But the work that has meant the most to me has always involved helping others grow.

Over time, that passion led me more deeply into leadership development, where I’ve had the opportunity to design and facilitate learning experiences, coach leaders, and help people navigate the transition from individual contributor to leader.

Those experiences eventually led to the creation of NASH9™.

Why I Created NASH9™

Leadership rarely happens under perfect circumstances.

It happens in real time.

Someone needs feedback. A decision needs to be made. Expectations aren’t clear. Conflict surfaces. Someone deserves recognition. A team member needs an opportunity to grow.

Those are Leadership Moments.

After years of working with leaders, I wanted to create something practical that would help people recognize those moments and respond well.

Not another complicated leadership theory.

A framework leaders could remember and use.

That’s the purpose behind the NASH9™ Leadership Framework and the reason I wrote Lead in the Moment.
